A tribute to my Christian Saint Father Ronnie Prabhu

I was fortunate being associated with Fr. Ronnie Prabhu. He was a catholic priest but had crosses all the religious dogmas and was more a spiritual saint who understood the real purpose of religion and saw the same message in all religions.  It was because of this spiritual growth he played an important role in bringing all religions on one platform. His work for inter-religious faith is commendable.   Living in public life, one is bound to experience success, failure, gain or loss. One may be very popular and powerful or his work and services may go unnoticed. These experiences are absorbed by man in many ways; one may resist and fight to win over the circumstances or one may simply yield. He may become bitter and harsh to the world and deeply resentful. But there are very few who become compassionate and develop wisdom and become loving to all the people around. Fr. Ronnie Prabhu was one of these few. Ever loving, ever compassionate and ever accommodative. I r...

Spirituality Begins in Faith

The student of spirituality has to start his practice relying on words from his Guru or from the scriptures.    The source of this ‘sound’ is the super consciousness, called the Sabdha Pramana,. The other two sources of knowledge are perception from the senses called the Pratyaksha Pramana and source of reasoning called the Anumana Pramana.  Sabda means SOUND.   When the experience of super consciousness is communicated by word; the teacher and the taught are not on a same level.    The student is yet to develop the faculty to understand experience of the Guru, therefore, the only alternative is to rely on the words of the teacher.  Have faith, dedicated faith. The path to Spirituality begins in faith and belief but it has to end in confirmation through one’s own experience.    Adi Sankara summarizes in his statement; ‘Janana ends in direct experience and relates to an already existing reality’.

WE CAN CHANGE

Man is a complex mass comprising mental, nervous, physical, emotional and behavioural habits. We think we are held and controlled by our surrounding and ruling ideas, our desires and associations.  But If we feels the need for transformation, need to grow out of the situations where we are placed, then we have to break all these formations resulted from the past.  We can should create the present, a new nature close to the divine. And there is no short cuts! “He who seeks the divine must consecrate himself to the supreme power and to that alone".

HAPPINESS HERE AND NOW!

Dear Friends,  Spirituality is about being joy, therefore, a sadak should seek joy around him but generally, we talk about sickness, burden, past karmas, etc.   Try to contemplate the joy around.   Let me elaborate; The very first thought when we come out of sleep has to be "I am happy this day". The fruits are as the seeds we sow.  I may be questioned  'Where is happiness around?'  THERE IS HAPPINESS HERE, NOW!  Every breath we take brings in fresh vital air, down to the lungs, How many of us appreciate this air?  We see beautiful flowers and green leaves around, How many enjoy their movement ? In fact they are calling us to touch (that is the way of plants communication).  Just touch them with love, see their reaction, enjoy the life in them and in you.  The water we drink, it is cool, quenching the thirst, are we enjoying ?  The food we eat, every bit of it, they are created only f...
